Hi there to all!

I've configured some yeas ago 4x AP-1832i with ME firmware, so there is a virtual controller.

Exact model is AIR-AP1832I-E-K9 ,and firmware version is: 8.5.120.0.

Now i've some problem with web manage page, everytime it put me out and ask me to login again....so i want to update the firmware.

I've downladed from the support page the AIR-AP1830-K9-ME-8-10-142-0.zip (about 499Mb).

I've read a lot...but i prefer ask....my questions are:

Is the right firmware upgrade? ( i think yes)

Is it possible that update directly or should I use older firmware before upgrading to the latest version? (i think yes)

Will i lose my configuration?..(i hope no)

If i upgrade the controller all the AP will be updated automatically? (i think yes)

How long could the be all the upgrade (i think 20min about)

What could go wrong???

Thanks to all for your help.

Have a look here, this should help:

The upgrade should work, but I'd make a configuration backup first, just in case

I'll try to answer your specific questions:

Is the right firmware upgrade? ( i think yes) Yes 8.10.142.0 is a good choice.  Another update expected in the next few weeks.

Is it possible that update directly or should I use older firmware before upgrading to the latest version? (i think yes) Yes, update directly.

Will i lose my configuration?..(i hope no) You should not lose anything but if something goes wrong you should always be prepared to have to reset the AP to factory default so always keep a backup of your config.

If i upgrade the controller all the AP will be updated automatically? (i think yes) - yes but read https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/mob_exp/810/user_guide/b_ME_User_Guide_810/manage.html#concept_F9DFFCFBB1D94289838733DF8871AF33 carefully to understand it.  You might need a TFTP server in certain situations.

How long could the be all the upgrade (i think 20min about) - sorry don't know the answer to this as haven't used ME myself but sounds about right.

What could go wrong??? AP stranded, software upgrade fails, config gets lost.  In every case be prepared to reset to factory default and start from the beginning (backup your config before you start), and even fallback to the old software version if you can't get it working on the new one.

Is the right firmware upgrade? - Yes

Is it possible that update directly or should I use older firmware before upgrading to the latest version? - Upgrade Directly

Will i lose my configuration? - Ideally no. But keep a backup just in case.

If i upgrade the controller all the AP will be updated automatically? - Yes

How long could the be all the upgrade - Max 30 mins.

What could go wrong??? - Just to be on the safe side If you can connect a console to the primary AP during the upgrade process it would be better to see in case you face some errors.
