Aironet 1850i random disconnect

Hi all,

I have some issue with a Aironet 1850i connected to a RV345 router. The access point is powered-on by the external POE adapter. During the day, the Wifi disconnect randomly with no sense. The connection is still on, but with no internet access. We check when is occours, that the internet not goes down, infact any of the PC wired connected to the router is still connected to the internet. We have about 5 laptops and 5 smartphone Wifi connected, and all the device suffers the same issue.

I have tried to reset the Access Point and create only 1 WLan, and we have the same issue.

Any idea or suggestion?

Is it a ME (Mobility Express) AP?
What version of software is it running?
What do the AP logs show?
Have you done any debugs on the AP?

The access point is in ME mode.

The software version is 8.5.131.0.

I don't have any Logging server configured.

- Upgrade to 8.5.161.0 https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286285803/type/286289839/release/8.5.161.0
- Doesn't matter if you have a logging server - there will always be logs on the ME AP itself - check that.
- If there isn't anything useful in the logs then enable debugs
- If you're still stuck open a TAC case for troubleshooting assistance from Cisco.

- I can't download this update because I don't have any contract associated to my account.
- There are no logging options in my AP.

Are you *sure* you don't have a "show traplog" command (it's been there since 8.3)?

I don’t see this command in the web admin panel. Tomorrow I will try to SSH connect e verify this command.

I notice that i need to disconnect and reconnect to have Wifi working again. Il takes about 10/15 seconds.

I'm connected to the AP via SSH and run the "show traplog". This is the result:

(Cisco Controller) >show traplog

Well you haven't mentioned whether any of those MAC addresses are relevant to you but I'm guessing they probably are. Do you need to detect/ban rogues? If not disable your rogue policies - no action to be taken - otherwise you'll need to tune the policies to suit your network..

Thanks for the info.

I checked the status, and no rogue policies or AP was found. I noticed many client association failure in the AP client performance tab in the Web Gui.

After some days of logging and debugging no solutions is found. The wifi seem to timeout after a certain amount of time (20 min approximately).

What can I do?
