Aironet 2800 duplex mismatch

Our switch, WS-C3750X-24P running 15.0(2)SE4, keeps Reporting Duplex mixmatch With most of Our 2800 AP's;

Mar 14 09:32:18.338: %CDP-4-DUPLEX_MISMATCH: duplex mismatch discovered on GigabitEthernet1/0/14 (not half duplex), with XXX_AP3 GigabitEthernet0 (half duplex).
Mar 14 09:32:21.786: %CDP-4-DUPLEX_MISMATCH: duplex mismatch discovered on GigabitEthernet2/0/16 (not half duplex), with XXX_AP6 GigabitEthernet0 (half duplex).

The WLC (Cisco 5508, sw 8.3.140.0) reports speed 1000 and Duplex full. The switch also reports a-full and a-1000 on the switchports. I can only assume that this is a bug somewhere..

I believe this is a known bug.

Hello,

Please check CSCvi84511

Problem appeared after upgrade from 8.5.0.110 to 8.5.0.120

Regards

We are seeing this on 8.3.141 (recently deferred) and 8.3.143.  We are not using the AUX port as in the bug, just the POE port.

known bug..  and it is still not fixed in 8.5.140.0 code on a 5508 with the AP attached  to a 3850 on Denali 16.3.2 code.  Its seems to be putting the LAG package in to suspend mode.

Hello!
Is there already a solution to this emblem? Our log server is flooded with these messages.

Affected APs only AIR-2802, WLC version 8.3.140.0

Hi,

Just try to upgrade to 8.5. 135 and check, may it will solve the issue

Rgds/Sudhir

you can use a filter using "logging discriminator"
logging discriminator NoDupLog facility drops with XXX_AP
logging host <ip.add.re.ss> discriminator NoDupLog
wil prevent messages with text "with XXX_AP" from being sent to the syslog server

We are seeing this problem on 8.3.141 and 8.3.143

I am seeing this on 8.3.143 with 3802 APs

Upgrade to the latest 8.5. 8.3.143.0 is the final release.

Where have you heard that 8.3.143 is the last release in that train? https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/wireless-lan-controller-software/200046-tac-recommended-aireos.html does not indicate that. I'm trying to plan future upgrades and if i should move to 8.5 from 8.3, that would be good to know.

I personally moved to the 8.5 train 8.5.135.0 is the latest version out, and Cisco will be releasing a newer version the first couple of weeks in October. 8.5 code was very buggy when it came out, however it works well now. I would look at the release notes to make sure it will work for you. If you are running newer APS 3800/2800 you should be ok to move to the 8.5 train.

I hope this helps

We are running 5520 8.5.135 with 2802 and also have same issue/bug
