I've got an Aironet 340 PCMCIA card running Mandrake 10 on a laptop. For reasons unknown to me, the linux drivers/software fail to load. Mandrake doesn't see the drivers and nothing works. I've noticed in the driver description it mentions "Supports Linux Kernel 2.4.18 and 2.4.20-28". Is this the root of my problem; using kernel 2.6.3? I'm a bit of a newbie as far as Linux goes, but I can manage.

Yes, Release 2.0 of the Cisco Aironet client adapter driver can be used only with Cisco Aironet 340, 350, 4500, and 4800 Series Wireless LAN Adapters (PC, LM, mini-PCI, and PCI client adapters), and Linux kernel version 2.2.xx or 2.4.xx.

I did figure it out after a long few days. The linux version of the ACU didn't jive with the WinXP-level firmware. I had to install the drivers and utilities separately and downgrade the firmware from 5.30.17 to 4.25 to use the ACU. Once configured I reloaded the 5.30.17 firmware to be able to associate with the AP. Thanks!
