the username passwd has been lost on one of our aironet 1200 APs.

is there anyway to retrieve the existing config if we reset the unit?

How Firmware Upgrades Work

Using remote TFTP Server for Updating Devices

You can download firmware images to a TFTP server and then upload them to access points and bridges. This method of uploading may be quicker than uploading from the WLSE if you have a slow link between the WLSE and the access points and bridges in your network.

According to TAC, there is not a way to recover the username and password. See the link below.

Also, there is no way to recover the running configuration if you don't have the username and password.

Is this the only AP in your network? If you have another, it may be configured the same way and you can get a config from it, change a few parameters (ie. IP address, name, channel, etc), and get your reset AP right back online.

Good luck.
