Hi,

i have Mobility Express with Aironet 1852i as primary controller (software version 8.10.171.0).

Can i add some Catalyst 9115AX as subordinate?

check compatability matrix (as per document possible i guess). but required to test, seen people Cat 9K AP can act as EWC and OLD AP as sub-ordinate.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

It is very risky using an 1800 as a ME.

Agreed with the others - use the 9115 as EWC and use the 1852 as subordinate CAPWAP AP.
In answer to your original question - no you can't do that.
