Hi,
I've just installed a 2106 Controller at a remote site. The Controller is seen by the WCS at the main site so, connectivity is good and I'm able to login from the main site. I've configured the DHCP server which is at the Main site on the AP manager interface and the Manager interface and on the WLAN of the new controller but, APs are not getting addresses. Any ideas?
Thanks, Pat.

Where are your APs? Are they directly connected to your 2106, or are they connected to a switch like normal?
Assuming connected to a switch, the WLC config is irrelevant to an AP getting an IP address. Whatever vlan your APs are in, they'll do a broadcast dhcp request and you'll need an ip helper-address or something to get it to your dhcp server..............
So do you see any kind of dhcp request make it to your server?
If this is directly connected APs, then perhaps someone else on the forum can share thier experience with this?

Terry,
thanks for the response. The APs are connected to the PoE ports on the Controller. On the AP interface I put port 1 for the Physical Information port, figuring this is where the Controller links to the network switch.

I think I figured it out. The APs are standalone and I ned to change them to LWAPP. Thanks.
