Hi Guys,
I have tested AVC feature in lab on Cisco 2504 WLC.
I created AVC profile where i created child class with drop/pass options.
Then i mapped this profile on one SSID where my laptop and mobile was connected.
But problem i found there is no data captured on WLC. Can any one suggest if -
-any lience required for AVC
- WLC using 8.2.170.0 - is this code supports AVC?
Manufacturer's Name.............................. Cisco Systems Inc.
Product Name..................................... Cisco Controller
Product Version.................................. 8.2.170.0
Bootloader Version............................... 1.0.20
Field Recovery Image Version..................... 7.6.101.1
Firmware Version................................. PIC 20.0
- Or i missed anything????

Does AP are local mode or FlexConnect mode ? 2504 support AVC in local mode AP only.
Here is 8.5.135.0 release notes which is the last supported code (8.5.x) on that platform.

Yes, you have FUS 2.0 on your 2504.
Pls confirm your AP are in Local mode & WLAN traffic are centrally switched.

Hello Rasika,
I have similar problem. I am running 8.5.161.0 version on cisco 2504 WLC. APs are running in local mode. I did enabled AVC on the QOS tab of the WLAN.
Thank you,

There is no licence for using AVC.
I had the same problem, I updated the FUS (Field Upgrade Software).
Did you try it ?

FUS upgrade require if you have FUS 1.9.0.0 version
"If you are using a Cisco 2500 Series controller and you intend to use the Application Visibility and Control (AVC) and NetFlow protocol features, you must install Release 1.9.0.0 of Cisco Wireless LAN Controller FUS."
In this case, FUS already 2.0, so no FUS upgrade required to get AVC working
"Verify the bootloader version by entering the command show sysinfo. The output displays the following line only if FUS 2.0 is installed.
Bootloader Version................... 1.0.20

Hi,
Yes after doing AP local mode it works.
Thanks all.
Few questions I have now.
1. AVC supports on AP local mode not on flex connect
So is this applicable for 2504 wlc or other higher versions too?
2.AVC only shows live user data statistics not historical, right?
