Could you please confirm is it related to software bug problem or device hardware issue?

Thanks

As to your original question I'd say the hardware has failed and you need to replace the APs.

Make sure the replacements are bought with correct reg domain.

Thank you very much for your reply. Could you please elaborate which things in logs are mentioning that the device has been faulty?

Tayyab

I believe that's telling you it can't find the radio.

As in outuput of show version of AP one radio is showing,

2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
1 802.11 Radios

if one radio is faulty but 2nd one is available, what do you think does it should work? or we assume the complete hardware faulty of device?

That's a question you'd have to ask Cisco TAC.

But I don't think there's any point in asking - you've already proven empirically that it does not work.

From what I've seen on similar 1832 failures the AP sends invalid data (missing message elements for WTP Board Data and WTP Descriptor) in the CAPWAP discovery request and that's why it's never able to join because the WLC ignores the invalid discovery requests.  While that may itself be a bug in AP COS it's really just a symptom of the failed hardware so the solution is replacing the failed hardware.

Thanks alot for your response. I really appreciate it.  I find one thing in the output of the AP show ip interface brief output is given below,

APA0F8.49E4.2010#sh ip int brief
Interface IP-Address Method Status Protocol Speed
wired0 10.15.12.157 DHCP up up 1000
wired1 unassigned unset down up n/a
wifi0 unassigned unset administatively down down n/a
srcr6 unassigned unset up up n/a

In output faulty radio (wifi1 is not showing) but wifi0 is administatively down. I tried to up but not done. In earlier APs command debug capwap console cil work to enable configure terminal of the AP but in this platform this is not working. Can you please tell me how can i enable/up wifi0 interface? If one radio interface will up and may be the AP can join the controller.

- CAPWAP AP must be configured by WLC you cannot configure it manually by CLI

- I already explained why the AP can't join the WLC but feel free to get your own packet captures to see whether it's the same problem I expect it is.

- Rather than wasting time trying to make a faulty AP work, replace it.

Thank you very much for your efforts and dedication. Actually, our two APs have been faulty for the same reasons recently one by one and about 10 APs are working in the network. That is why I wanted to make sure the  AP hardware problem and you explained it clearly.

Once again Bundle of Thanks.

Unless Cisco policy have changed, one cannot just RMA one Regulatory Domain and get another one back.

I assumed these would not be RMA'd @Leo Laohoo which is why I said "bought" not RMA

Thanks,Noted. We will buy new APs. We do not have RMA against these APs now. Could you please elaborate which things in logs are mentioning that the device has been faulty?
