Hello

lease need some help here as I have been going in a loop here for a few days

I have a 1532i Outdoor unit trying to connect to the controller and I am getting to then point where I am getting the error

Seems to be popular and followed a lot of links including this one https://blog.it-playground.eu/lightweight-ap-manual-firmware-upgrade/  that seemed to be right on target however I do not know what the /overwrite is and I manually updated the AP

Here is the AP version output and the controller ap bundle output. I do not see the image on the controller and cannot find how to add it.

Hi

We have some problems here. The 2504 have support for the version 8.5, the lasted version, and this AP 1532i have version 8.10.171.0. This means that the AP need to downgrade to the WLC version 8.5.151.0.

This shold not be a problem but it seems that the WLC does not have the AP bundle:

ap1g1 13192 AP700
ap1g4 25864 AP1850/1810
ap1g5 22240 AP1815,1540
ap3g1 10168 AP3500
ap3g2 15392 AP2600,3600
ap3g3 39496 AP2800,3800,1560
c3700 14372 AP1700,2700,3700

To solve this, I recommend you to download and install the following image bundle.

https://software.cisco.com/download/advisories?fileName=AIR-CT2500-AP_BUNDLE-K9-8-5-171-0.aes&mdfid=283848165

HI,

Are you sure you have uploaded the bundle image of WLC2504 ? You can issue "sh ap bundle all " to check it.

Due to an increase in the size of the Cisco WLC software image, the Cisco 2504 WLC, Cisco 5508 WLC, and Cisco WiSM2 software images are split into the following two images:

  • Base Install image, which includes the Cisco WLC image and a subset of AP images (excluding some mesh AP images and AP80x images) that are packaged in the Supplementary AP Bundle image.

  • Supplementary AP Bundle image, which includes AP images that are excluded from the Base Install image. The APs that feature in the Supplementary AP Bundle image are:

    • Cisco AP802

    • Cisco AP803

    • Cisco Aironet 1530 Series AP

    • Cisco Aironet 1550 Series AP (with 128-MB memory)

    • Cisco Aironet 1570 Series APs

    • Cisco Aironet 1600 Series APs

If you have uploaded the bundle image, is there any error log repeat ?

Hi

Thank you for your reply,

I saw this that you noticed and was very suspicious. However didn't know the path to the remedy. I saw rthat the AP image was not on the controller

I have a few questions here please.

1. I have WLC version 8.5.171.0 it shows that this is included in this version. Maybe it did not upload properly when I upgraded the controller a few months back?

2. I do not have a contract so the link to the download I cannot access. How can I get supplemental bundle?

Thank you

Joseph

"1. I have WLC version 8.5.171.0 it shows that this is included in this version. Maybe it did not upload properly when I upgraded the controller a few months back?"

I dont think so. AP bundle is required for some AP models

2. I do not have a contract so the link to the download I cannot access. How can I get supplemental bundle?

Unfortunatelly you need contract.

Hello

Thanks for pointing that out. I see in red the AP_BUNDLE now. So you are correct I didn't upload this. I am now trying to get a contract on this so I can download the correct software bundle.

Hello everyone

Thanks for the help

I finally got the contract and uploaded the bundle and  this fixed the issue.
