Cisco AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 middle light flashes

Hi,

I have a Cisco AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 that used to work, but now it’s not, and the middle green light flashes (about 3x per second).

I have no idea what to do. Can someone please help me fix it?

 According to the 1200 manual, this indicates as follow:

 Middle Led indicates AP status:

"

The status LED signals operational status. Green indicates that the access point is associated with

at least one wireless client. Blinking green indicates that the access point is operating normally but

is not associated with any wireless devices.

"

When you are close to this Access Points, do you see SSIDs ?  If does, are you able to connect ?

If does not, have you reboot the AP ?

reboot does nothing.

Oh PLEEEEEEZE help me!

I really need my wifi back again!

A few years ago I worked on one of these with an old windows XP computer and a 9-pin to rj45 cable, but I can’t remember how I connected; that was a few years ago.

I’ll take a look through the basement to see if I can find the XP computer . . hopefully it still works. I found the blue 9-pin to rj45 cable.

There is also a slim possibility that the AP has a defect. The console connection might show it.

ok I am able to connect with old XP computer using PuTTY, but I don't know what to enter.

Simply power cycle the AP & see what you get in console output. No need to issue any specific command

This looks like an issue with the LAN interface. Can you replace the LAN cable please or the switchport?

ok, i connected it to it's wired LAN switch and now it has 2 (out of 3) blinking green lights, but SSID does not show up on phone or laptop.
