Hi Guys,
I have installed a cisco 5508 WLC and managed to get AP 2600 to talk to the WLC but I'm having trouble to get AP-1600 series to talk.
I checked the logs on WLC and it says
CAPWAP-3-DECODE_ERR: capwap_ac_sm.c:3844 Error decoding Join request from AP <MAC.ADD>
GUI: Recent traps:
AP with MAC <MAC.ADD> (AIR-CAP1602E-E-K9) is unknown.
Any ideas?
Thanks

The data sheet says "Cisco Unified Wireless Network Software (available in Q4CY12)" (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps12555/data_sheet_c78-715702.html), but they are definitely referring to the 7.4 release; was also mentioned during other discussions.

1600 series APs need WLC code 7.4, which is still beta and therefore not on CCO yet.
But since the 1600 AP itself is actually beta too, you should ask the guy who gave you the AP, I'm sure he can give you the WLC software as well.

Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the info, does it state that anywhere in Cisco docs? Got equipment from Cisco so back to Cisco I go =)
Thanks
