MasterChief

Hello,

I have configured a Cisco 2504 WLC in my home lab. I have a WLAN configured and connect the AP to the switch. The Cisco AP joins the controller, and I can see it, but it does not broadcast the SSID, and the AP blinks Blue, red, and Green.

Cisco AP: AIR-AP3802I-A-K9

Version of WLC: 8.5.182.0

I appreciate anyone help

@JPavonM is correct.

There is not enough PoE to power up the radios, hence, the blinking LED.

Is AP working before ? is the AP getting Power from PoE from switch ? what switch model - check the correct power.

Console to AP and post complete boot logs.

The AP was in a production environment so the AP works. Yes the AP is receiving power from the switch. The switch is a catalyst 3750 series-e. As for the boot logs What would be the command to get that?

what is the status after you changed to flexconnect and is this AP joined and able to broadcast SSID  ?

After changing the AP to flex connect lt is the same as before. the AP is Joined but not broadcasting SSID. it is blinking Blue, Green, and red.

IF the LED is blinking, then it means that it is still booting up.

Confirm if the AP has joined the controller using the command "sh ap summary".

That is the weird thing it is always blinking even hours later. but here is the output of that command from the controller.

Ok, I'm not going to obsess about the blinking LED mystery.

1.  Is the SSID enabled?
2.  Is the SSID hidden?
3.  Is the 802.11a and 802.11b radio enabled

The SSID is enabled. It is not hidden. The 802.11a and 802.11b Radios are enabled but it says operational status is down. Here is the screenshot

This is the problem.

Where is the screenshot?

How do I go about resolving it ?

I need to see the screenshot.

Please share the complete output to the following CLI commands:

  1. WLC:  sh sysinfo
  2. AP:  sh inventory

Here is the output from those commands.

Factory-reset the AP.

After the AP joins the controller, post the complete output to the command "sh capwap client rcb".

Here is the output.
