here is troubleshooting prime disk issue :

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/cloud-systems-management/prime-infrastructure/200720-Prime-Infrastructure-Troubleshooting-L.html

anything older log files it is safe to delete (if you are concerned, move that files to different place where space available)

once everything back normal and working, you can safe to delete those from the safe location.

Hey man,

what version of Prime Infrastructure are you running?

Up to PI Version 3.5 I kept seeing an issue with logrotate...
So the disk always completely filled up with logfiles..

If you look at the folder "/var/logs", you should see your log files being rotated.
You can just delete any of the rotated log files without thinking (any files with ".<number>" at the end, like .1, .2, .3, etc.)..

If the log files are just keep growing without being rotated, you can clear out their contents.
I always did that by echoing an empty string writing over the content of the log files.

I mostly saw those three files growing up to several GBs: (all in /var/log) messages, secure and wtmp ..

Clearing out the contents of those files without touching the metadata:

cat /dev/null > /var/log/messages
cat /dev/null > /var/log/secure
cat /dev/null > /var/log/wtmp

Let me know if any of that helps.

You are running prime infrastructure 2.2?

I would really recommend to deploy a new prime infrastructure as soon as you can.. with version 3.8 ..

2.2 EOL Long Long Ago. PI 3.8 is the latest. soon DNAC comes in place, PI also go faded from the market.

can I delete this file which a lot of files with this name and taking too much space  is it backup file

/opt/oracle/base/fast_recovery_area/WCS/archivelog/2017_06_16

also i compared oracle with opt oracle consumed 85% of opt half of of them taken by mentioned file

that is archive, if you do not need compliance, safe to delete

stop ncs service if possible and delete and start service and check.

What will contain this file is it backup file

If so I will delete the older files and keep just one because I have more than  10 files like this and taking around 300gb

What is the command to delete files in opt

Is there any documentation for it

Probably this:

sudo rm /opt/oracle/base/fast_recovery_area/WCS/archivelog/2017_06_16

Assuming that is a file and not a folder. If it's a folder, add a -r after the rm command. I suggest taking a backup first and store it externally.

i go with superuser

#cd /opt/oracle/base/fast_recovery_area/WCS/archivelog/

# ls -al (list the files in the foder)

# rm -rf filename.x ( -rf not ask you confirmation it deletes).
