Cisco Prime Internal failure during Positioning of WLAN AP

Hello Cisco WLAN and Prime folks,

I found a problem within Prime maps trying to position a 3802-WLAN-AP with USB-BLE-Stick and change the Azimuth angle.

I changed the Azimuth angle in the past from 90° to 270° successfully, because the AP was laying on my desk.

Now after correct mounting to ceiling, I wanted to change back to 90° but receive the following error:

An internal failure occurred while fulfilling this request. Check logs for details

It shows also an Azimuth angle of 0°.

But when I try a second time. The original Azimuth angle of 270° has not been changed.

Please see also attached picture.

Has anyone a good idea how to solve this ?

Where can I find the log to check details ?

Thank You very much for any help.

Kind Regards

Wini

Try to remove the AP from the map and then adding it back. It should lose the configuration if you remove it from the map.

Otherwise just ignore it, it's only important for the visual representation within Prime Maps, nothing else (unless maybe you use an MSE or CMX, but I'm not sure there).

           - What is your Cisco Prime version and or advising to use the latest when dealing with errors like that.

Thank You Marce1000 and patoberli for Your help.

I tried to remove and add the WLAN APto the map.

It shows up with same wrong 270° angle for Azimuth. Trying to change the value results in same error mesage.

In next step, I deleted WLAN AP completly from Prime by disconnecting it from the WLC by shut of AP's switch Port.

After reconnecting the AP to switch and WLC and Prime discovery, the AP behaves well again on the map.

It appeared with 90° for both antennas and BLE. I was able to change to 270° and back without problem.

By the way, do You know, whether I need to adapt the azimuth angle for the BLE-Stick for

Cisco DNA Spaces Detect&Locate and Asset Tracking ?

We run a PoC in our hospital for wayfinding and asset tracking.

That why I came into this azimuth angle problem.

Thank You so much for Your help.

Have a nice weekend

I never used that feature, so I don't know the answer to it. But I
assume it should be written in the manual of DNA Spaces if the antenna
orientation in Prime plays a role.
