WAP model 9120AX

WLC 9800CL

Clients are disconnecting randomly from WAP and SSID is dot1x not PSK based this is happening on particular office building other office building works fine. Is there any command in Cisco WLC to find out reason of disconnection?

WLC version is 17.9.5

In wlc

Hi @Adnan Razi Khan yes, you can enable radioactive trace for few clients and keep it running.

In GUI Troubleshooting>RadioactiveTrace> Add add the mac address and start the trace. Wait until issue (client gets disconnected). After that you can stop the trace. Generate the trace file and you can read the debug.

  - @Adnan Razi Khan    You can use commands from https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/catalyst-9800-series-wireless-controllers/217738-monitor-catalyst-9800-kpis-key-performa.html#toc-hId-866973845
to get an overview of client behavior and or watch for problem indicators

You can also debug individual clients with instructions from https://logadvisor.cisco.com/logadvisor/wireless/9800/9800ClientConnectivity
these client debugs (called RadioActive Traces) can be analyzed with Wireless Debug Analyzer

==> Always validate the configuration of your WLC 9800CL controller using the CLI command
show tech wireless and feed the output from that into Wireless Config Analyzer

You need to start from RA trace - no other option. Along with that, you can run 'show wireless stats client delete reasons' which will give you the delete reasons with numbers. This is just a stat to get a holistic view of overall client delete reason and where most of the deletion is happening.

As others have said the RA Trace is a good one, then use the Cisco Wireless Debug Analyzer to convert it to more readable format.

If its a Windows device you could also try the following with admin rights (i believe)

from command line

netsh show wlan report

more details on it here
