Hello,
I'm not able to convert a EWC to a simple CAPWAP AP... checking the CCO docs it seems very easy : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/embedded-wireless-controller-on-catalyst-access-points/215303-embedded-wireless-controller-conversion.html#anc18
A simple command
AP1#ap-type capwap
which is not available on my EWC?
Has anyone already experienced a similar situation?
Any comments are really appreciated.

It has to be done from the AP console CLI not the EWC/WLC CLI - refer to https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/embedded-wireless-controller-on-catalyst-access-points/215303-embedded-wireless-controller-conversion.html#anc17
That shows the default credentials but obviously if you have configured your own AP credentials then you'll need to use those.
Then: C9120AXI-AP#ap-type ?
capwap Switch to CAPWAP AP type
ewc-ap Switch to EWC AP type
workgroup-bridge Switch to Workgroup Bridge(WGB) AP type

The ap-type command is available at the APs CLI not at tthe EWC CLI. If you are at the WLC CLI use command wireless ewc-ap ap shell . It will switch you to APs shella nd use the ap-type capwap command there.
