DHCP issues in local mode but not Flex

Hi,

I have an issue that I can't seem to figure out. The scenario is as follows:

A WLC 5520 is used for FlexConnect only and that works 100%. But, when we added new APs and configured them in local mode the guest network could not provide users with IP. The same SSID works on FC sites but not when APs are configured i local mode.

Any ideas?

 - Have a checkup of the controller configuration with show run-config commands , and have the output analyzed with : https://cway.cisco.com/wireless-config-analyzer/ , also perform client debugging, for clients using the guest network  https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/aironet-1200-series/100260-wlc-debug-client.html , you can have these analyzed with https://cway.cisco.com/wireless-debug-analyzer/

Maybe I'm stating the obvious but if the AP is local mode then it's using central switching so the VLAN needs to be configured on the WLC trunk port and of course the DHCP etc needs to be configured there too and you need the VLAN configured on an interface on the WLC with the WLAN using that interface.  Is the WLC at the same or different site from the APs?

Hi,
I am new in Wireless.
but as I read before you can use
local switching with central DHCP.
this make AP send DHCP to WLC and locally switching other traffic.

@MHM Cisco World that's a different question.

The fact remains that when an AP is in local mode it ONLY supports central switching.
If you want local switching then the AP must be in flexconnect mode.
