Flexconnect and Umbrella

Hello, I was reading about Umbrella integration in the WLC and it mentions two modes (WLAN and Local Policies) of configuration.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/8-6/config-guide/b_cg86/cisco_umbrella_wlan.html

Since neither of the configuration modes specify if the APs are either Local or Flex, I'd like to be sure that Umbrella integrated in the WLC works with clients that are in Flexconnect APs.

Here we are not talking about DNSs that are provisioned thru a DHCP Server.

The main idea of this is to protect guest users that go directly to internet in branch offices with APs in Flexconnect and using the Umbrella's Wireless LAN licensing model.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/wireless/umbrella-wireless-lan.html

Regards,

Nor.

Hi, I recently found this document

https://hardware-integrations.readme.io/docs/opendns-wlc_integration_guide

A the end of document, you will find this

Cisco Umbrella Support

• WLC supported platform- 5508,5520,7500,8510,8540. ME, vWLC is not supported
• AP mode supported–Local mode, Flex central switching.
• 10 different Cisco Umbrella Profiles configurable on WLC
• Guest (Foreign–Anchor) scenario, profile applies at Anchor WLC

Im not sure if you can do local switch, I have the same doubt.
