Hello,
how can I swap the running image with the backup boot image? I have a Aironet 2800 series AP, more specifically a AIR-AP2802I-E-K9. Doing it in the wlc AP settings was not effective so I'm looking fpr a CLI command to execute in the AP
AP Running Image : 8.5.171.0
Primary Boot Image : 8.5.171.0
Backup Boot Image : 8.8.130.0
Thank You and kind regards
Giulia

If it's currently connected to a WLC, you can issue the following command on the WLC:
config ap image swap <AP_Name>
Then you can reload the AP and it should boot with the other image.

It is connected to a WLC, but the new firmware was not uploaded on it...if I disconnect it from the WLC, how can I swap the versions?
Thank You

That does not make sense. If the AP has connected to the WLC, the AP should boot the same image as the controller. If the AP is "stuck" with the old firmware, reboot the AP.
To swap from one partition to another, use the command "configure boot path <1 or 2>".

Hello Leo,
this AP will not register again (hopefully) on the WLC so for this reason I don't need to update all the WLC ad APs. Also the sw version that we need to put on the AP is not supported by the WLC because is old.
Thanks
