I have an access point with a 100' low loss cable (CiscoAIR-CAB100ULL)connected to an Cisco AIR-ANT2506 5.2dB Gain Omni antenna. I can stand right next to the antenna and I see only a 1bar signal strength using Windows Zero Config tool. It seems obvious to me that the antenna is not turned on. I have my antenna connected to the Right 2.4 GHZ terminal and I have set my WLAN controller to the following:
Admin Status Enabled
Antenna Type External
Diversity Right
Antenna Gain: 5 (x0.5dBm)
WLAN Override Disabled
Current Tx Power Level 5
Assignment Method Global
What am I missing???

There were some 12xx APs with the antenna connections reversed. Try either setting the AP to "Left" ot move the coax to the left antenna terminal.
If that doesn't help, there may be a problem with the coax, the radio could be disabled, the power setting could be set very low, you could be "too close" and overloading the receiver (try moving away `10-15 feet), bad connector, bad antenna ...
Check it out and let us know
Good Luck
Scott

I tried testing a different cable, a different AP and I also changed antennas and used Left instead of right. I don't get it, I must be missing something. Any other Ideas anyone?
