Is there an indicator which can express what strength ap signal has?

Is there an indicator which can express what the ap signal strength is over the distance? I can see what speed a AP has at a certain signal strength in datasheet. but i cannot see the relation between the signal strength and distance. For example, what strength the ap is at distance of 5 meter?

This largely depends on two properties: the used antenna and the configured power level.

Then you can have a look at the data sheet of the AP model and if external antenna, the antenna data sheet and then you can calculate it for a "perfect environment", where no other signal influence exists. 

Oh and not to forget, the radiation pattern of the antenna is also extremely important, you also find that in data sheets for the antenna. 

Or in other words, it's fairly complicated to calculate this, which is why we can't really define this.

Then the actual speed also depends on the other radio settings, like channel-bonding, noise, co-channel interference, encryption used, wi-fi generation used, ....
