Low bandwidth via Wireless on all 6 Aps - AIR-AP1852E-E-K9

In the same switch (a SG250-26P where the 6 Aps are connected) and testing on a switchport (same vlan and same network given on the WAP) we get around 150Mbps to 170Mbps of download when testing to the outside network;

We usually get around 8Mbps to 12Mbps when connected via Wireless (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz);

All access points are connected to the switch with a port speed of 1000M;

There are usually 15 to 20 people connected to each AP during work hours;

When we recently updated to the firmware version 8.5.151.0 (in order to try and resolve the problem), it resolved the problem giving speeds of around 60mbps when connected to the wireless network, but 9 days later we started getting low bandwidth again when connected via Wireless;

We still get an amazing connection speed when we connect a PC directly to the switch (cable network) but via wireless we still get 8Mbps to 12Mbps download;

We also did a connection speed via wireless when there were only 5 people in the branch connected to the WiFi but we still get around 14-20Mbps.

Hi,

   What is your WLC model? Do you use LAG or have a single WLC port attached to the switch? Do you use FlexConnnect?

Regards,

Cristian Matei.

Hi @Cristian Matei

We don't have LAG and flexconnect.

The WLC is the AP6.

Hi,

   How much BW do you get per user, associated to the same AP? What is your configured channel width? Based on that and number of clients, see what is the expected throughput:

Can you test with an Open unencrypted SSID?
Depending on your encryption settings (avoid WEP, WPA and TKIP!) you might also get very low speeds.

That AP is an "E". What antenna is currently being used on them?
