Our client have 15 aironet 1850 model APs  in mobility express(ME) cluster. The issue is that mobile devices(android and iphone) are not able to connect WiFi to certain SSIDs. But the same mobile can connect certain SSIDs as well. but majority cannot connect. This issue started severely suddenly. WAP2 is using for connection. AP firmware is 8.10.151.

With windows laptop no issue to get connect to network . only mobile devices facing this issue.

APs are connected to Alcatel Omniswitch with tagged and native vlan configurations.

Is it better to downgrade from 8.10.151 to 8.8.130?

 - Perform client debugging on the problematic clients which you can analyze with :

                      https://cway.cisco.com/wireless-debug-analyzer

Have the controller configuration analyzed with :

                      https://cway.cisco.com/wireless-config-analyzer/

I would recommend you to check whether the 802.11r aka Fast transition is enabled, if yes or in adaptive mode please disable it and try again.

"Is it better to downgrade from 8.10.151 to 8.8.130?"

No!  If you want to try different software then latest 8.10.162.0 would be the correct choice - resolves a number of bugs and security vulnerabilities in 8.10.151.0.  As always - read the release notes carefully:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/mob_exp/810/release_notes/b_ME_RN_810.html

You can also find extra info about the release in the main release notes:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn810mr6.html

This problem still not solved yet.. i found cisco recommends 8.10.151.0 as stable version for 1850.. In that case do you think its recommended to upgrade to 8.10.162.0 to solve this issue?

I would recommend checking your internet connection & also perform TM speed test to check either your internet is working fine or not.

What is the internet connection playing in this when users never been able to connect to WIFI SSID itself?

Did you end up figuring this out? Have similar issues with 2 of our sites 2800s running 8.10.151

still not solved the issue.

Well the latest version is now 8.10.171.0 https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286285803/type/286289839/release/8.10.171.0

No mention of any of the previous advice being acted on, so no reason why anything would have improved without doing any of that necessary troubleshooting!

It seems to work fine after upgrading to 8.10.171.0 for a 1850 ME wireless network.

Thank you!
