Hello everyone,
Can you help me to understand the influence of mounting an AP on cable tray directly ?
I am not sure it is a good idea or not.
How about the noise/interference (if yes)?
I think this topic not just for Cisco AP 3702i but for all other APs.
Thank you for your ideas.
Best regards,
Tuan

Hi Leo,
Thank you for your comment.
I have the same idea but just "think".
Nowadays, we use CAT6 to connect AP and I think CAT6 can limit the noise/interference alot. In this situation, only the back of AP is covered by metal.
Best regard,
Tuan

Hi Natuan,
You might want to look at how AP propagates its signal. Please take a look at the elevation and azimuth pattern of the AP. I guess most APs still propagates some of its signals backwards, in your case into the cable tray. The cable trays is made of metal right? As far as I know metal will provide a lot of 'distraction' to the RF signal.
I guess you will get what Leo means once you read how signal propagates.
Cheers.
