Hi,

I have multiple WiSM's connected on the 6509 switch, sh wism stat will show me the all 4 management IP's, (two slots were powered on)

I am able to connect 1st controller GUI and do all my configurations, but when I try to use GUI other management IP it is not allowing to connect via Internet explorer.

what could be the problem.

Hi Kiran,

It will be of great help if you could paste the output "show wism status" here... I wanted to check if al the WLC or the WISM are in OPER-UP status.. then try pinging the management IP addr from the SUP and see if we are able to ping.

Lemme know how this works out for you!!

SUP720_A#sh wism stat

Service Vlan : 1000, Service IP Subnet : 192.168.XXX.1/255.255.255.0
      WLAN
Slot  Controller  Service IP       Management IP    SW Version  Status
----+-----------+----------------+----------------+-----------+---------------
1     1           192.168.XXX.7     XXX.168.XX.68   7.0.98.0    Oper-Up
1     2           192.168.XXX.8     XXX.168.XX.69   7.0.98.0    Oper-Up
2     1           192.168.XXX.9     XXX.168.XX.70   7.0.98.0    Oper-Up
2     2           192.168.XXX.10    XXX.168.XX.71   7.0.98.0    Oper-Up

I have masked some part of IP address for confidentiality purpose..

I am able to take a GUI of only 1st Management IP address..

I am able to connect to 1st controller from my laptop, I have a problem in connecting to 2nd WiSM controllers

Hi,

As you are able to ping the management IP of second WLC, telnet to the device and double check if you have webmode enabled on second WLC.

(Cisco Controller) >show network summary

Web Mode.................................... Enable
Secure Web Mode............................. Enable

If in case it is disabled, issue 'config network webmode enable'

Regards,

Madhuri

Hi,

web console is enabled... only I am able to connect to one controller at a time., when i disable the 1st WiSM, i am able to connect to 2nd WiSM controller,  i don't is it something to do with network connections.

let me know if any other settings

Just adding my 2 cents and a wild guess :

Is there a chance that your 2nd Wism (that is having the problem) has its management ip address being the same ip address as something else on the network (for example, the ap manager of another wism). That would explain.

Nicolas

Yes Nicolas... both are in the same IP address range, single subnet surving for AP manager and Management IP Address

this IP range is used only by wisms

Hi Kiran,

Try pinging the management IP addr from the SUP and see if we are able to ping. if you are able to ping, then session into the WISM controler in context and then see if the WEBMODE and the telnet is enabled.

Lemme know how this works out for you!!
