Hi Experts,
We are having 2504 WLC with 1042APs(2 spatial streams , 300Mbps) .Our clients are getting connection speed of maximum 72Mbps only in 2.4GHZ as well as 5GHZ
I have tried the below settings , but still the speed only
1.Radio policy all
2.WMM enabled
3.WPA2 AES settings only
4.Channel width 40MHZ in 5GHZ band.
For example My laptop always connecting in the 2.4GHZ band and I am getting maximum of 72 Mbps only in office. If i use it in my home , i m getting connection speed of 150Mbps. My home wifi router has 1 spatial streams.

Pls post "show client detail <client_mac_address>" output when this is happening.
Also what happens if you disable 2.4GHz radio on your AP ? Does your laptop connecting in 5GHz ? If that works, better to enable "band select" on your SSID to prefer 5GHz over 2.4GHz

I have tried the option of enabling band select feature , but soon some of the clients are unable to connect only. Hence i disbled the option again.

Take a look at the "Current Rate" of the client. That will show you the rate the client has negotiated with. To understand the MCS rates, go to the WIRELESS tab on the controller then 802.11a/n/ac then click on High Throughput (802.11n/ac). This will give you a reference.

Here are my interpretation.
1). First client 5.5Mbps which 802.11b data rate ( I would suggest you to disable 1.0,2.0,5.5,11.0,6.0,9.0 datarates if you do not have any legacy 802.11b only supported devices).
2.) Second client connected in 2.4GHz with speed of m5 (52Mbps)
3.) Third client connected in 5GHz with speed of m5 (130 Mpbs). This client support AES/CCMP encryption which is required to get 802.11n speed. This client has very good SNR 52 which indicate sits close to AP.
4.) Fourth client connected in 5GHz but limited to 54Mbps as client connected in TKIP instead of AES. ( I would invetigate & see if I can disable TKIP "under WLAN security options" if you do not have client only support TKIP)

Disable B/G mode in your laptop WLAN driver properties to force a connection in A band to see which rate it gets then.
Also please provide more information about the RSSI value's and check which rate's have been enabled globally for B/G and A band.
