We have a test SSID setup with web authentication via Radius on a WLC5508. Works great. But the boss would like it to not require re-authenticating every time a student attaches to the SSID. Is that possible using just the WLC5508, or do I need some secondary software like ISE? Ideally we could require re-authentication every 3 months or so.
The specifics: AIR-CT5508-K9 running vresion 8.2.100.0. Several different types of AP, including 3702s and 2702s.
Thanks!

Hello,
If I understand your query correctly, once a user completes web-authentication you would not like it to authenticate for another 3 months. This will not be possible even with a separate authentication server unfortunately.

0rsnaric,
Here is how you can change the web Auth time-out
Increase the Web-authentication Timeout on the Wireless LAN Controller - Cisco
Log in via the CLI and enter the config wlan security web-auth timeout command in order to increase the Web-auth timeout value.
WLC)>config wlan security web-auth timeout ?
<value> Configures Web authentication Timeout (300-14400 seconds).
(WLC)>config wlan security web-auth timeout 3600 <Wlan_id>
2. you can also change the Sleeping Client Timeout from 10 to 43200 Min, This can be change on the WLAN under layer 3 security
