I have a need to provide wireless in two small courtyards that are on two sides of my building.
I was thinking I could use the AIR-CAP1552I-A-K9 for this purpose. Is this a good unit for this application? I do not need to do Mesh only provide connectivity for users in the courtyards.
Thank you.

That would be my choice and the reason being is that its outdoor rated. Even though you might not require any MAP's, you can still configure the MESH to use the 5ghz as client access along with the 2.4ghz which is enabled for client access by default.
Thanks,
Scott

Assuming the building adjacent to the courtyard are climate controlled, you can try what we did: install a 1262N on the inside of the building, and drill a giant hole through the wall and mount the antennas outside. Then fill it all with spray foam. We have some pretty thick walls built in the early 1900s, but were still able to just barely make that work. The hardest part other than drilling the holes was building the mounts to aim the antennas.

We have 1552s in a full mesh for our storage lot and they are fantastic units. For the semi trailer area, the trucks have on board computers to tell what trailers to pick up and what dock door to put them in. For this application we used 1242 originally, and recently upgraded all of them to 3502E access points. We mounted them inside the building approximately 20' high and penetrated the outside wall with a 3/4 inch pipe. We then mounted 2.4GHz and 5GHz flat paddle antennas on the outside wall and fed the wires through the pipe and connected them to the AP. The solution works very well.
