Over-written config on WLC

We have an instance where changes were (supposedly) made to one of the IP addresses on a WLC, but the next morning, the old IP address was there. Does the WCS automatically load a config if it sees a difference to what it believes should be loaded? (I haven't ruled out human error yet!)

is the mismatch observed on the WLC or the WCS?? if on the WCS, whats the WLC status??  if not.. whats the uptime of the WLC?? did we save the config? or did the WLC reboot without saving the config? coz, WCS will not change the ip.. if the IP change is performed, then the WLC will get displayed as UNREACHABLE on the WCS
