Hi All,
We recently deploy several AP 3702 model and since some of our switch do not provide enough inline power (ie only 15.4w) instead of 30.
we bought several of the POE injector PWRINJJ6 and these Power injectors do not seem to work.
The AP just flashing red and not connecting to the WLC.
Any advice are much appreciated.
Thanks

The newer AP's require more power and the unit is made for a specific output. "It should work" is the wrong answer to be honest. There is no firmware for those units and you would have to purchase the pwrinj4 from another place or find another brand that can provide the output power.

Cable issue.
If the switch is Cisco, run a TDR and test all cables.

NO.
when we swap this PWRINJJ6 out with the PWRINJ4 it works nicely.
Same setup - different power injector.

Your power injector should of been a PWRINJ4. You might be able to make them come up with reduced functionality by looking at this link:

Hi Scott,
You is correct - we bought this CISCO (AIR-PWRINJ4=) POWER INJECTOR - AP-3600 SERIES W/ MODULESSPARE in the past and it work well but now our rep said they have no more stock and the new PWRINJJ6 should also work.
The management with a technical answer.
What could be wrong with the PWRINJJ6 ? is it different firmware?
Thanks

To add to this, I also had issues, as long as PoE on the (Cisco) switch was on auto. I had to force it off on the lan port to make the injector correctly work!

Thank Scott.
We decommissioned several Xirrus APs and have some brand new Xirrus POE and they produce same Input/Output but for some reasons they do not work with 3702 AP.
is there a technical answer for this ?

Make sure it's 802.11at supported. If not, then you would have issues.
