Problem after formating flash wlc 2504

Hi people! I had problems with updating the WLC image from 7.0 to 7.2, and made a BIG mistake... I had formatted the flash. So now i do not have RTOS installed on my WLC. The only thing i have is the bootloader 1.0.16. Of course i can not install the code file (*.aes). I think that i need a RTOS to install first? but where can i get one for this device??? Or may be i can install any of RTOS from openwrt (for example) just to enter a normal command line or web GUI, after what i could install (upgrade) the normal .aes image. Please give some sugestions, what to do. Thank you!

Dear Ivan,

What is the RTOS software?

Is it the same as the WLC controller software?

Does the name appear as below?

AIR-CT2500-K9-7-3-112-0.aes

After RTOS they will ask for the RF file... what is that?

Did you also update an AP image? Did you use TFTP or FTP for this?

Sorry for the million question but having the same problem and very hard to get support from Cisco TAC.

The rtos image is an image from Cisco TAC. That image you posted is the WLC software image not the rtos. If you can't boot your WLC then you need to have the rtos image and the process on uploading it from TAC.

Hi Scott.

Thanks for your response. I will try TAC again and see if I can gain access for the RTOS software. Is that all that I require? I have a copy of the WLC controller software in case you are wandering.

That is all that is required. TAC will be able to provide that and walk you through the process.

You have another post out there for the same issue. I would just follow up with that one.

You need to RMA the WLC or else opened a TAC case.
