Raspberry disconnect from an AP to go to another

Hi,

We have concerns about the use of an SSID dedicated to production, on which are Raspberry pi connected in 2. 4GHz.
Users use Raspberry pi to connect to remote desktops, and the slightest disconnection cuts off the session, which sometimes happens every 5 minutes.
The Raspberry are fixed but pass from one terminal to another for no reason.

Do you have an idea to resolve this problem?

We tried to fix the channels to the terminals without success.
The controller is a C9800-CL in version 17.9.4 and the terminals where the problem appared are 9120AXE-E and AIR-CAP2702I-E-K9.
Connection to the dedicated SSID is made via a PSK key.

I remain available to discuss and share certain configuration information with you.
I thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Regards

Jeff

Client roam between AP to AP - its all depends on signal availability and client choose which AP to connect.

Make sure you postion the Pi correctly - and updated the Drivers where possible to latest to fix the issue.

Also suggest to move from 2.4 to 5GH is best option - so stablity of the connection improves.

Connection to the dedicated SSID is made via a PSK key.

personally you do not need dedicated SSID for this requirement, if you want to you can do (but that is not required) - always suggest to have less SSID for better outcome.

Post the complete output to the following commands:

sh wireless client mac <rPI MAC ADDRESS> detail

Find the nearest AP to the rPi and then provide the output to the following commands:

sh ap name <AP NAME> dot11 24 cleanair air-quality
sh ap name <AP NAME> dot11 24 cleanair device
sh ap dot11 24 cleanair device type all | include <AP NAME>

TRy to avoid having APs from different standards mixed in the same building/area, as that may lead to disconnections.

Also try to avoid having a production SSID  in both bands if ALL devices do support 5 GHz.

Following on from BB's answer: "Client roam between AP to AP - its all depends on signal availability and client choose which AP to connect."

If you have AP power level set too high you might have excessive overlap of the AP cell so that client sees both/multiple APs at similar high power levels.  In that case you need to check your RRM settings to make sure power levels are set appropriately to provide the right coverage without excessive overlap.

Hi,

Thank you for all your answers.

I asked my client to switch the Rapsberry 3 to 5GHz, unfortunately they are models A that do not support it.

So I turned off 5GHz on this SSID.

Here are the results of the specified commands.
The impacted tested equipment is located between AP 147 and 149 :
