Replacement for the AIR-LAP1042N-A-K9

Hi all, what is the replacement for the AIR-LAP1042N-A-K9?  I'm looking for something with similar features and capabilities, not an upgrade.  Thanks in advance!

I assume that you use a wireless controller? What controller and software version do you use?

The 1042 APs are really, really old and every AP will outperform them. You could use Cisco AP 1815i or Catalyst 9105. The Catalyst 9105 needs software version 8.10 or 17.3 on the wlan controller.

1040 and the 1140 are really "solid" APs.

I'm working on an insurance claim that has a bunch of the units involved.  The insurance company owes to return the insured to a pre-loss condition, which means replacing the damaged units with ones that have similar features and capabilities.

 - These models are ancient and no longer sold but the requirement can easily be met since newer models have similar features and capabilities  and much more !

The 1140 was the "main" AP for indoor use.  Cisco spun out the 1040 for the price conscious.   

Fast forward, Cisco has four indoor models:  9110, 9120, 9130 and 9136 with the 9110 as the "cheapest" option.

If you have a "say" in this, see if it is possible to replace the 1040 with a 9120 (or 9130).
