Please advise me on this. I have four 1200 Access Points with the latest firmware. They are on the same subnet. When I am associated with an AP the signal strength is Excellent. As I move far away from the AP the signal decreases to Fair. I am close to another AP, but my laptop drops off the network before it associates with the second AP. Is there a setting that I can change so that when I roam, I associate with the closest AP before I drop off the network. I am using CISCO 350 wireless cards.
Thanks,

Roaming is determined by wireless clients, not the APs.
Please go to ACU, click on "Profile Manager". Select the profile in the pull down menu and click on "Edit"
A new window will pop up. Click on "RF Network". There are two settings to control the roaming:
"When Adapter Has been Asscocited For At Least" "And Signal Strength Is Less Than"
I assume that you use ACU version 6.3 in Windows. There should be a similar setting. Please reply with the ACU version and operating system if you do not find the parameters.

Hi
I had disabled the "scan for better access point " option and this option worked well till now when once again my clients have started roaming between APs. It happens as soon i try to download from two peers.

I am using ADU (latest version 3.0) and cannot find the "When Adapter Has been Asscocited For At Least" "And Signal Strength Is Less Than". Are this option only available in the ACU and not the ADU. ADU is the revised version of ACU and why there is not such feature.
Thanks for any information
