Hi Folks
i have wlc 4400 with ap 1231G,RRM is set to Automatic,but when the interference appeared the client get disconnected when the wlc change the clint from channel to channel,why is that, how to stop the disconnection of client?
2)am running the the 802.11 g on my wifi network,so the channel is 1,6 and 11,my question is if the client join ap-1,did all use channel (1) or some clint on this ap use channel 6 and other use channel 11

If an AP is on a certain channel, all clients have to be on that channel to connect to the AP.
If there is interference and the AP has to change channels, all the clients will have to change channel too. And often, this means a disconnection for the clients so there is no way to avoid that.

If you think its interference you will need to find what that interference is. Do you have a spectrum card ?

Depends on what the APs are broadcasting on. If one AP is on channel 1 then clients associate to this AP will use channel 1. If the AP needs to change channel then every client has to "back off" while the AP goes to another channel. The client, already backed off will search channels 1, 6, 11 to find out if there are available APs to join. Once it finds one (or more) the client will join.
Think of it as watching TV. Sometimes, as it happens, mistakes are made by the broadcaster and they might cut the program you are watching. This is "back off". Like any other person, you'd probably react by reaching for the remote and surf the channel. You might just find another channel you like and stick there.

any solution to prevent the disconnection of the client when the contoller change the change of the ap,i already have RRM Enabled onthe wlc

Hi,
When the WLCchanges the channel, the clients conected the will get disconncted, AFAIK i guess there is no way we can stop this apart from increasing the RRM time or disabling it.

Hi Ibrahim,
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But the answer is NO. IT doesn't make any sense that when the controller changes channel the client won't get disconnected when they move from one channel to another.

A few questions --
1) Are ALL the clients getting disconnected at the same time
2) How do you know they are getting disconnected... did you see this for yourself
3) Is user complaining about a loss of connect on a APP perhaps
4) Turn off RRM and test it if you feel the need to if RRM is making wild swings with channels
5) Is this in just 1 area or EVERYWHERE

just 2 clients got disconnected at different time (btw all wifi drivers updated to the latest)

they loose connectivity to application ,Yellow sign appear on the wifi card then limited access

I Turned off RRM ,but more than 10 clients get disconnect in different times
5) Is this in just 1 area or EVERYWHERE
it is in one area( no oven in this area)
we r planning to update from 1200 to 3500,we just knew its against interference

So what are these clients ... Laptops with what cards ?
So if different clients are getting bounced at different times then that may not be interference.
Do you have enable session time out enabled on this WLAN
This application they are using ... Is it used EVERYWHERE and its juts breaking in this one area
I assume you are 802.11b/g or are you using 802.11a on your SSID

So have you moved the client in that are to 802.11a to rule of 2.4GHz interference? Since you dont have a way to check the spectrum. I would move the clients if you can.
Enable session time. Go->WLAN->Select your SSID->ADVANCE TAB
You see session time out.. Default is set to 1800 seconds. Your controller will send a deauth frame to your wireless client every 30 minutes. Some client apps dont like that ... Something to know ...
As for the debug ... Check the ACS logs .. Thats the best way to see if a client is failing.
