Charlie Grey

hi,

new to C9800 controller.

like to ask the experts here which these are more preferred (less issue) and should be place on higher priority for AP Tag Source? AP or filter? especially when AP failover to other controller.

i m running code 17.3.3.

if using AP as source tag, i need to go in each individual AP to check tat checkbox.

appreciate if can share your experience.

thanks everyone.

And do not use version 17.3.3! Refer to https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/catalyst-9800-series-wireless-controllers/214749-tac-recommended-ios-xe-builds-for-wirele.html but I'd recommend going to 17.6.4 so you can use tag persistency https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/9800/17-6/config-guide/b_wl_17_6_cg/m_ap_tag_persistency.html

We use AP filter.

any particular reason?

thanks for replying.

Our AP names start with a site code.

If we rename the APs to start with the site code, the filter will then start to work.
