Upgrade Mesh AP AIR-AP1562E-B-K9

Hi,

Can anyone assist me how to upgrade Mesh AP AIR-AP1562E-B-K9?

Currently i am using the below version:

AP Running Image : 8.5.151.0
Primary Boot Image : 8.5.151.0
Backup Boot Image : 8.5.131.0

Typically you perform the upgrade on the controller and then the controller would push the image out to all the access point. I’m assuming you have a controller since you are using mesh?

Hi Scott,

I do have a controller 5520.

The reason i am trying to upgrade the AP is it is refusing to join the controller and shows the error message "{watchdogd} Process capwapd no heartbeat for 60s". So someone from this community advice me to upgrade the AP and might work.

is there any way to upgrade from CLI?

also where can i download the image also?

I suggest you follow up on the other thread. You will most likely have to take the ap down unless you have ssh and network connection.

Hi Scott,

I have already removed the AP.

It is refusing to join the controller as it is showing the error "{watchdogd} Process capwapd no heartbeat for 60s". 

It is very difficult to find out the relevant doc to follow for the solution.

Also when i try to download the image i see :

Select a Software Type
Cisco Mobility Express
Lightweight AP Software
But i think this outdoor 1562E AP is capwap, isnt it? So where shall i find the upgraded version of image to upgrade. Just want to test if by upgrading the AP it might work..
