I recently upgraded an AP 1200 Series (G-Radio) to XR2 but in the process of pushing the upgrade to the AP, the connection was reset to the AP as I was remotely upgrading it using TFTP Server.
When I consoled into the AP, I found out the following:
Xmodem file system is available.
flashfs[0]: 3 files, 1 directories
flashfs[0]: 0 orphaned files, 0 orphaned directories
flashfs[0]: Total bytes: 7741440
flashfs[0]: Bytes used: 4096
flashfs[0]: Bytes available: 7737344
flashfs[0]: flashfs fsck took 7 seconds.
Reading cookie from flash parameter block...done.
Base ethernet MAC Address: 00:0e:38:f1:90:d0
Initializing ethernet port 0...
Reset ethernet port 0...
Reset done!
link auto-negotiating....
auto-negotiation takes 10000 milli-seconds to complete
ERROR: timeout waiting for auto-negotiation to complete
ERROR: fail to bring ethernet link up
The system has been encountered an error initializing
ethernet port. You may need to check hardware
The system is ignoring the error and continuint boot.
If you interrupt the system boot process, the following
commands will reinitialize ethernet, tftp, and finish
loading the operating system software:
ether_init
tftp_init
boot
The system is unable to boot automatically because there are no bootable files to boot.
C1200 Boot Loader (C1200-BOOT-M) Version 12.2(8)JA, EARLY DEPLOYMENT RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Is there a way to get this to work. I dont think that factory defaulting the AP would work because of the missing bootable files.

You may want to try a mode button reload. The draw back to this is that you will have to be with the AP and have a directly connected TFTP server. The complete process is located here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps4570/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a00801cfb02.html

Hi rayflor,
Thank you very much for your guidance. This acually helped me out a lot. I was able to restore the access point image and upgrade later on to the newest one out there.
If anyone needs or comes across such a problem, please let me know I will be more than happy to walk you through it.
Thanks!
