Hi Team,

I have an WLC9800L install on VM..My AP 3802 is discovered into it and also SSID is broadcast but my end user is unable to connect with this SSID.

Note: All devices like WLC9800L install on vm and AP in same vlan..and use will also get the IP from same vlan.

WLC to Switch configurations::

interface GigabitEthernet4/0/15
description "0.136-vmnic3"
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport mode trunk
spanning-tree portfast

AP to switch configuration:
switchport access vlan 91
switchport trunk native vlan 91
switchport trunk allowed vlan 91
switchport mode trunk
spanning-tree portfast disable
Please suggest

Please guide what i need to do

IS anyone please guide me what do i do ?

  - @hamza-ali  Validate the configuration of your WLC9800L controller configuration using the CLI command
show tech wireless and feed the output from that into Wireless Config Analyzer
Any fatal errors for the basic controller (wlc_results tab in resulting Excell must be corrected!)

Hello @hamza-ali,

I think you need to be more clear when you said your client is not connecting.

What authentication are you using?

Do you see the client on the WLC at all?

is client not getting an IP Address?

I would advice to attach a full configuration of the WLC + collect the always on logs from the client while trying to connect. So, we are in a better position to help.

Here the command you can use to collect this logs:

Troubleshoot Catalyst 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers - Cisco

9800-L is a hardware WLC appliance.
If you are running the WLC as a VM then you must be using 9800-CL (Catalyst 9800-CL Wireless Controller for Cloud)

Having everything (WLC, AP and clients) on the same VLAN is a very questionable design.  There are a number of things which may not work that way.

As @Mark Elsen said - use the Config Analyzer to validate your WLC config as a starting point.

Make sure the WLAN configuration is compatible with the client and client has latest OS and drivers installed.
