WCS to NCS migration

Hi ,

We are trying to migrate WCS base license to NCS 1.1 .

We have procured the migration license .

In the licensing guide , it is mentioned as

"L-WCS-NCS1-M-K9 License first, before adding the licenses migrated from your WCS installation"

I got some confusion here.

1)Whether we need to add this migration license in WCS before genrating XML file or

2)Before adding XML file in NCS we need to add this in NCS ..

And one more question ,

3) We got migration license from WCS o NCS . In future I want to upgrade to PI , shoud I have to purchase one more license?

What version of WCS are you currently on now?

Typically is you go from WCS 7.0.220.0 or later to NCS 1.0, you need to export the WCS license and paste the XML on the licensing tool when generating the NCS 1.0 license. If you have the WCS to NCS 1.1, you don't have to export the XML as you would be sold the addr license for what you currently have on WCS.

Hello,

We are planing to upgrade WCS to NCS 1.1.

We are having:

L-WCS-NCS1-M-K9     WCS to NCS 1.0 Migration, 25 Bonus licenses included

Can we use these PAK for NCS 1.1 and do you know the right procedure for generating license?

Any help will be very appreciated.

Yes you can. First you have to upgrade and then you go online to register your pak to the virtual machine serial number.

Can we then perform the upgrade from NCS 1.1 to Cisco PI 1.3 without any aditional licenses?
