Wireless Bridge goes down when passing traffic

Hello,

I am having a problem setting up a wireless bridge. I have 2 Cisco 1532E access points with AIR-ANT5114P2M-N antennae. One will be connected to the main building (lan connected) and act as a RAP. The other will connect to a remote building (not lan connected) and act as a MAP.

I have a test lab setup in my office (both AP's in the hallway about 40 ft apart).  The config is simple enough, just a straight forward RAP/MAP pair with a common bridge group name.  I have the native vlan set for vlan support/ethernet bridging and both AP's are connected and assigned IP addresses via DHCP reservations. I have CDP disabled on both the switches and the AP's, due to problems getting the AP's to register while it was enabled. I have both access points setup and connected to HP switches with external POE injectors.  I can get everything working easy enough, but once i pass traffic over the bridge (either with a laptop connected to the remote switch, or a continuous ping from the remote switch), the bridge goes down. I have a continuous ping going from my laptop to the remote MAP connected switch, and the connection seems to stay up for a while, but once i initiate traffic from the remote end, the bridge goes down.  When i stop the traffic from the remote end, neither AP comes back up. They will blink red/amber/green. Even the root AP which is connected to the LAN never comes backup, even after removing the remote end traffic (disconnecting the laptop or canceling the ping). I have to console into the root AP and reload it or power cycle it then the bridge will come back up. The continuous ping from my laptop will eventually crash the bridge if you wait long enough.

I have a Cisco WLC with  code version 8.0.120.0. Both AP's register to it.

Hi,

Have you tried upgrading the code on the controller to 8.0.121?

Thanks

Thanks for the response.  I won't be able to have downtime for a while. I found that spanning tree was causing the issue. After making some changes to the stp config, the bridge stays up consistently.
