Wireless Protection Policy in WLC Cisco

Иван

Level 1

Hello, colleagues! Can you please help me understand how work Wireless Protection on Cisco WLC?

On WLC setting some rules

rogue rule.PNG

is a Kenetic(for example).

In Alarms in Prime i see :

"Rogue AP 'ec:43:f6:00:a4:a8' with SSID 'Keenetic-4760' is detected by AP 'AP-KLE-MTR-1-24-3' Radio type '802.11b' with RSSI '-72'. Rogue AP contained."

Does that mean my Access Point AP-RUS-MTR-1-24-3 are send to clients of Kenetic deauth-messages?

And if this AP (Kenetic) is not a rogue. It turns out that my AP AP-KLE-MTR-1-24-3 interfering of neighbors?

Thanks a lot!

Ivan

so if you are containing a rouge AP you are sending deauth packets, that will cause issues to other people trying to use the Kenetic  SSID

Here is a link to that may help you understand, it old but still valid
