WLC - DCA / same channel on 2.4 radios

Hi all,

Looking my WLC Wireless Tab I noticed that almost all 2.4 radios are on the same channel.
DCA is enabled on automatic mode but no change happen.
I checked others sources of 2.4GHz but there is no strong signal near to cause this issue.
Some radios is near one each other, about 15 meters, so the WLC should put the radios in different channels.

Some one know what can be the cause of this.

Look attached.

Regards,

Claudio

Hi Claudio,

Are there any neighbors visible when you open one of the 802.11b/g/n radios on the monitoring tab and if so, how many and how strong? Did you already try to restart the RRM algorithm on the CLI of the WLC with "config 802.11b channel global restart"? Any post-deployment site survey results available?

Please rate useful posts... :-)

DCA should run every 10 minutes and with the APs transmitting at full power, you'd think that these channels would change and power levels adjust.

  • Do you see the same issue with your 5-GHz channels and power levels?
  • Have any of the default RRM settings been changed? (i.e. timers adjusted, turned off, etc)
  • What code version is your WLC running?

Hi Tyson,

    - This is a Mesh network and I'm using 5GHz only for backhaul.

    - I change some DCA configs. Look attached the actual config.

   - 8.0.140

Thanks

Claudio
