WLC image naming convention Looking for 8.10MR6 and 8.5MR8

Hello Cisco WLAN experts,

I'm looking for images for WLC5520 und WLC2504 to solve FRAG-attack security issues.

Your advisory is pointing to SW-images version 8.10MR6 and 8.5MR8

Multiple Vulnerabilities in Frame Aggregation and Fragmentation Implementations of 802.11 Specification Affecting Cisco Products: May 2021

But when I look into Your Download area for 5520-images, I cannot find a 8.10MR6 nor 8.5MR8 

I can see latest Release for 5520 as 8.10.162.0 ED for example.

AIR-CT5520-K9-8-10-162-0.aes

Is this identical to 8.10MR6 decribed in Your security advisory board?

Can someone explain please the image file name notation ?

Please check and point me to the correct images for 5520- and 2504-WLCs

8.10MR6 is 8.10.162.0.

   Yes ,because if you go to the download side for that version and you click on the release notes that string (mr6) appears in the URL.

thank You very much for Your clarification. Now I got it.

By the way, I'm not allowed to download the 8.5MR8-image for WLC 2504.

Looks like there is confusion in the Maintenance contract.

We have also Wism2-WLCs, for which I'm allowed to download image.

Can I deploy the 8.5MR8-image for Wism2 also for 2504-WLCs?

I did not check in detail, but as long as the filename is exactly the same, it should be the same file. I'm fairly sure though, that the 2504 uses a different image than the 5508.

thank You very much for Your reply.

But I want to use an image file for Wism2-Module as a workaround for the 2504-WLC.

From former downloads, i can see that the files are of same size but different names.

I just compared the MD5 sum of the 8.5.171.0 image for both hardware types and it's identical. So it looks like it's exactly the same file and can be used.
