ASR 9010 Router Firmware upgrade from RSP440 to RSP880

Hi everyone,

would like to ask a question about ASR9010 router with RSP440 (Firmware 6.4.2) and need to upgrade to RSP880 (Any firmware latest than 6.4.2).

My task is planning to upgrade the Firmware version and SMU on a blank ASR9010 router before it replaces to the production ASR9010. (It can shorter the upgrade time).

The question is does RSP880(firmware latest than 6.4.2) and RSP440(firmware 6.4.2) will sync the configuration file on different software version? I want the RSP440 configuration file can sync to the RSP880 except for the software version.

Does anyone have the step or suggestion for this?

Hi Daniel,

in general when you insert the RSP as standby, it will pull whatever code/configuration files on hardisk from the active.

you cannot have different versions of RSPs running in the same router.
