I read on a doc this morning on nv edge that the IRLs had to be 40 or 100 GE but then I read on another doc that they can be 10GE links.  Can someone clarify for me?

Thanks in advance!

Trident is not supported, only typhoon.

  • Requires cluster software license on each chassis

HW requirement – Chassis

  • Only ASR 9006 and 9010 are supported in 4.2.x
  • ASR 9001 is supported starting in 4.3.0
  • ASR 9001-S and 9922 are supported starting in 4.3.1
  • ASR 9904 and 9912 are supported starting in 5.1.1
  • Only like-like chassis are supported

To answer the 10G/40G/100G question yes all are supported.

  • Mixed mode not supported

I've got a pair of 9906's running 6.3.2, RSP880s, and Tomahawk linecards (24x10GE-1GE).  Is this a supported configuration?

Thanks for the info!  Just for my knowledge, and to explain to my customer, do you have insight as to why this is not supported in the later releases?

There is a trend moving towards vendor agnostic EVPN where we can use BGP to achieve active/active or active/standby forwarding between two PEs

Can you share the URL to that document? Was it maybe specific to ncs5000 as satellite?
