Mark Thanks!

Mark ... Could you let know the range of fan speeds and its relation to the temperature on the chassis

What is the maximum fan speed for the fans

Regards

Sreenath

Hi Sreenath,

I don't remember the maximum speed of the fans but if you if have a lab chassis you can find out by temporarily removing one fan tray - the other will operate at maximum speed.

The fan speed is dependent on the number and type of cards present, not just the temperature of the chassis.

There is a description here:

Hi Sreenath,

Here are the normal ranges for the 9006 and 9010.

9006 7000-13000 RPM

9010 3400-6400 RPM

There are different failure / alarm scenarios. These are some of the more common ones that come to mind.

When an individual fan hits 0 or is beyond +- 30% of the set value we raise an alarm. (Note that we set the speed for the whole tray but there will typically be variation in individual fans).

If 1 of the trays is removed then the other tray will go to maximum speed.

HTH,

Sam
