Is there any similar functionality supported on ASR9k?
DESA is a very interesting idea and is currently supported on 7600 (https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/cether/configuration/15-s/ce-15-s-book/ce-dyn-ether-servact.html).
More specifically the functionality i'm looking for is to have dymanically created L2 services (VPWS/VPLS) using various criteria per "session" (stored in radius profiles).
i.e. create a different PW per:
src/dst mac-address
dhcp options
inner/outer vlans
ethertypes
cos values
any combination of the above
FSoL could be any packet or specific ones (i.e. ARP, DHCP, etc).
So, when the ASR9k receives a packet on an interface, it sends any of those fields found in the packet as attributes to the radius server, the radius server replies with some cisco-avpairs (or whatever), the ASR9k processes them and the needed L2 configuration is created on the fly.
It's like a BNG for Ethernet subscribers instead of BNG for IP/PPPoE subscribers.
Thx,
Tassos

hey tassos :)! yeah DESA is not part of the planning for EVC platforms (a9k, ncs5500 etc).the trend is more towards ZTP and service orchestration through NSO.
cheers

Hi Xander
I was actually hoping for something in a roadmap than something in someone's mind.
Anyway, thanks for your prompt answer.
