Hi Community,

ASR 9010 is experiencing high CPU usage.

Output : "run top"

315 processes; 1549 threads;

CPU states: 50.0% idle, 49.7% user, 0.1% kernel

Memory: 4096M total, 2308M avail, page size 4K

Time: Thu Jan 17 14:10:13.861 SGT

    60     7   0      21 Rcv     1:07:06     0.05%      eth_server

As you can see from the above output the cpu process taken by mpls_ldp process is very high. What can be the cause of this issue?

Right now this router is connected to two 7609 Routers. MPLS TE auto-tunneling is enabled in all the three routers, since these are testbed routers hence very low to zero traffic is flowing through it.

Please feel free to query me for further information related to it. Thanks.

Best Regards

Could be

CSCtu36536  - dangling tcb causing high ldp cpu utilizaion (> 20%)

Symptom:

High CPU utilization (20% or more) from mpls_ldp process.

Conditions:

Triggered when an LDP session goes down but its TCP connection is not properly terminated. Affects 4.2.0 and earlier versions.

Workaround:

Restart the mpls_ldp process.
